Babies Babies!

Last September must have been a . . . (ahem) . . . “busy” time, because I know at least five women who have given birth this week. One of these mamas is a dear friend of mine, and I was invited to attend her birth yesterday. I was SO excited. I’ve never been on the other side of a live birth before, and was really looking forward to the big event.

So, long story short, I missed the birth. 🙁 I was at the hospital for about eight hours, and things were progressing very slowly, so I ducked out for a bit to take the girls home (they’d been playing with my birthing friend’s kids). And, as Murphy’s Law would have it, she went from 4-5 cm to 10 cm during that hour I was gone. Drat and brazzlefrat.
But, I got to see the wee one today and took some pics of him and his proud big sisters. More black-and-whites. I’m in a black-and-white mood lately. 🙂
Hope you enjoy this glimpse of new life, with his perfect, wrinkly little old man face. 7 lbs 1 oz, 20 inches long. Less than one day old – he doesn’t even have a name yet.
