Six-year-old Wishes

DOLITTLE: I was just outside thinking of all kinds of ideas, and then one just SWOOSHED into my brain. I think that it’s going to be the right one, because it just SWOOSHED in there.
ME: What was it?
DOLITTLE: I can’t tell you what it is. I’m going to make a wish on one of those white dandelion thingies. Will a wish not come true if you tell someone?
ME: Well, some wishes come true, and some don’t. And some take a long time to come true. Wishes are kind of tricky that way.

DOLITTLE: But I’ve been wishing my whole life for something and it hasn’t come true!

ME: What’s that?
DOLITTLE: A kitten and a puppy that’s easy to find in our backyard.
Aw, my poor animal-deprived animal lover.
