Sometime in the wee hours of the morning, BoyWonder crawled into bed with me. And because I was barely coherent and a total sucker for those big blue eyes, I snuggled him up and fell right back to sleep.
Some hours later, his little voice woke me up.
“Mama, you’re breaking my heart.”
“Mmm…what?”
“You’re breaking my heart.”
“Sweetie,” (yawn) “I think you’re having a dream.”
“No, I am not having a dream!”
Pause.
“Mama, you’re squashing my heart.”
Aw. I woke up enough to realize I had my arm wrapped around him and the weight of it was apparently squeezing his chest. Breaking the poor kid’s heart. 🙂

I am impressed by how he reassessed what he was saying and said it a different way!
