First Snow

Wow, almost a month? Really? My blog slacking has reached new heights. I’m so proud.

Rather than whine about my pregnancy woes, which is what I feel like doing, I thought I’d share a little poem I wrote a LONG time ago for the first snow of the season. Really, you should feel very privileged, because I never ever ever share my poetry with anybody. Ever. Ever. So here you go. Happy Winter, everyone.

First Snow

Each year late fall I
Await like a child
Your quiet descent

Immaculate flakes
Each tiny, unique
Perfection’s envy

Craving and cursing
First frost – fall’s falling
Life gives way to white

God’s silent blanket
Shrouding Earth while she
Sleeps and dreams of green.
